This calculator is provided as a service to help you better understand the differences between the TRSL Regular Plan and the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) and, therefore, make an informed and IRREVOCABLE choice between the plans.

To use this calculator, you must meet BOTH of the following criteria:

• have less than 5 years of TRSL service credit
• be employed in higher education as defined in LSA-R.S. 11:921

This calculator uses the data you enter and does not compare it against your actual member account. It is not connected to the TRSL database, which stores the data pertinent to your account. The results of your projections depend entirely on the information you provide. If you need help using the calculator, please call TRSL's Member Information Center (MIC) at 225-925-6446.

Every effort has been made to ensure that the information is accurate. If the information should conflict with state or federal law, then the law must take precedence. State laws governing TRSL retirement are found in Louisiana Revised Statutes, Title 11, Sections 1-309 and 701-947, and the Louisiana Constitution, Article 10, Section 29.
